Senior Solo Opportunities

CMI wants to recognize your our Senior's dedication to their craft and to CMI.  Therefore, we offer a CMI Senior Solo Program to all those students who will be graduating at the end of the upcoming Fall performance season, allowing them a spotlight moment to perform during our annual recital.

For a student to qualify for a standard senior solo they must:

 - have been a CMI student for 2+ years

 - take at least 2 classes (1 being a tech class and 1 being a recital class in the style they want their solo in)

 - maintain at least a 75% attendance rate in all their classes

If the student desires to have a high quality senior solo it is suggested they:

 - dance at least 2 nights a week

 - participate in more than 1 performance class per week

 - participate in more than 1 tech class per week

 - take summer classes leading up to their senior season

Those not able to fill the standard requirements will be offered a solo spotlight in the Finale production number at the end of the recital in place of a solo number.  This means they perform for apx seconds instead of  2-3 minutes.

Those accepting a senior solo will begin their solo rehearsals after returning from Winter Break in January.  Their solo session will be a part of the studios weekly class schedule and is NOT considered a private lesson.  Solo classes not attended by the student will not be subject to rescheduling.  Therefore, seniors have 12 solo classes between January and April to learn and clean their solo choreography before performing in the recital with no options for canceling and rescheduling.

The cost for a senior solo is $35 per 30 minute weekly solo lesson, January through April, paid directly to the instructor before each lesson.

The cost for a senior solo costume is $80 charged to your account on Sept 1st, and we cover the added cost for tights, accessories, recital fees, etc.
