Local Performance Company

The CMI Local Performance Company is an opportunity for our Recreational Dancers to gain access to additional training and performance opportunities outside of our monthly classes and annual recital, without the additional time and cost commitments required in competitive studios.

At Count Me In, our Local Performance Team is dedicated to creating a nurturing, fun, and safe environment where youth can grow as performers and individuals. We provide meaningful, year-round opportunities for students to develop their artistic talents while building confidence, discipline, and a sense of community.

Our focus goes beyond performance—we are committed to each student’s personal growth. Through encouragement, positivity, and quality instruction, we help every performer reach their full potential at their own pace.

We inspire confidence, celebrate creativity, and champion inclusivity. As a team, we emphasize collaboration, accountability, and the joy of performing, while preparing students with the skills and mindset needed to thrive both on and off the stage.

HOW CAN YOU/YOUR STUDENT BECOME A SOLO COMPANY MEMBER???

This is an invite-only program that our staff selects at the end of our 8-month recital seasons.  Students who have exhibited all or most of the traits and practices listed above will be presented with a Company Certificate at the end of the recital, with an invitation to join the company for the upcoming season.

Students and parents will be provided with all of the requirements, costs, and details regarding the solo program via email, the week after the recital, with instructions on what classes to register for Summer – should you choose to accept your invitation for the 26-27 season!

Students may choose not to join due to various reasons, but this does not mean they will not be invited again, as we understand that cost and time commitments can change annually for families.

CMI COMPANY REGISTRATION PROCESS

Students who are invited to join at the annual recital will receive an email the following week with instructions TO REPLY to the email confirming if you intend on joining or not.  We will then help guide you with what classes to register for Summer session and what to plan ahead for Fall.

You must register for the COMBINATIONS, BARRE and DANCERS SKILLS TECHNIQUE CLASSES for Summer Session, even if you will have to miss a week or two for other commitments.

Fall class requirements begin in September with (1) 1 hr technique class, (1) 1 hour combo class and (1) 1 hour skills class per week.  Then during the months of January through April you will add on (1) 30 minute private lesson for your solo choreo (which is also when you will have added fees for the weekly lessons.)

COMPANY MEMBER ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS

Our goal in offering local performances is to develop the best performances that we possibly can to put on the stage for everyone attending to be able to enjoy. A large hindrance to achieving this goal is frequent tardiness and absences.  Because of this, CMI has an absence and tardiness policy.

  • ALL Company Members are required to attend the minimum classes required for their specific group(s) for the duration of their seasons.
  • If a student misses more than 4 classes during choreography season (January through April), for any reason, that student will be removed from the solo/duet program for the remainder of the season, and may not be invited to join again in future seasons. We are offering the “private lessons” at a weekly scheduled, discounted rate, and do not have the ability to reschedule them as our staff and room availability is limited.

○ Being 5 minutes late to any class is still late and leaving 5 minutes early is still leaving early.

■ Remember, we are instilling higher standards and expect our performance company students and families to be on time to rehearsals the same way you must be on time for a performance.
