ALIVIA BRITTON, Art Instructor & Classroom Aid
|
Instructing: Art Classes
Hi..I’m Alivia, lifelong Norwalk resident and mom to one adorable overweight poodle named Scout! After graduating from Norwalk High School I attended Kent State University , obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. In addition, I have mostly recently been employed by the Kent State Art Museum where I was in charge of creating, managing, curating and cataloging all of the museums exhibits. I created a new management system for the museum to use while employed there and am happy to be bringing not only my artistic skills, but also my organizational and project management skills to the Count Me In facility and programs. I am currently finishing my Minor in Psychology, also through Kent State University and plan to peruse my Masters in Art Therapy in the near future. I am very excited to share my love of art with your children. I personally believe you can learn a lot about art while still having a blast! I will create a fun, judgement free, positive environment where your child can freely express themselves in an artistic manner. Individual and group ideas and participation are incorporated into my weekly lesson plans for classes at CMI. |
AMANDA SHANE, Music Appreciation & Home Economics Instructor
|
Instructing: Music Appreciation & Home Economics Classes
(Amanda will also serve as a substitute for our program) Amanda is not only the owner of the studio, but she is also a performer at heart and a Graduate of Edison High! Although she spent her more recent years involved in the environmental industry - and managing Amazing Moments event entertainment company - she has continued to keep up with her craft and puts her performing arts knowledge from Otterbein University to good use. Amanda received scholarships to attend Otterbein University in Ohio as a Performing Arts Major, with a concentration in vocal performance and was a double major spending time not only singing, but also playing piano and concert trombone in their orchestra. During her time there she was fortunate enough to travel to Holland, France and England to perform. After college she spent several years singing with bands at weddings and other venues. More recently she participated in the Huron Playhouse performance of The King and I prior to their closing...which is another reason she was prompted to find a facility that would be able to house all forms of arts and entertainment. Amanda is a wife and mother to two children, Cassie & Colton, both of whom dance at the CMI studio and will be attending Dis-Dance Learning Classes as well. Amanda is sure to keep your kids on task and working towards their goals while entertained with her humor and and improv skills! |
